DEATH: Death year was assumed from fact that his will was proved in court in May 1841. Annals of Bath County on page 199 states he died in 1841. Will foun in Wills of Alleghany County 1822-1876 part 2, book 2, page 13. Information on the children was obtained from Centennial History of Alleghany County pages 134-138 which gave names, place of birth, who they married and death date of John Persinger. Marr date of Granville obtained from Marriage Record of Alleghany County 1822-1916 page 7. Marriage dates from Botetourt County Marriages obtained for Mary p.91, Andrew p.560, Elizabeth p.100, Martha p.573, Susanah p.550, and Nancy p.560. The baptism and endowments dates of Jacob Persinger were obtained from the Temple Records Index Burea of LDS Church. Jacob Persinger is listed in LDS Family History Library under two different Ancestral File numbers 1460-MWR and also GTSC-K4. from "Annals of Bath County" by Morton it states that alleghany County was formed 5 June 1822 from Bath, Botetourt and Monroe Conties. On page 199 it states "Jacob Persinger was on of the earliest pioneers of Potts Creek; son Jacob died 1841 leaving 11 children. Brother Henry who preceded him 17 years; there were born 10.
